A Diwali to Remember,at home

As the evening approached on Diwali day,the home got filled wih prayers and diyas for aprosperous year ahead. As the diyas were lighted and the prayers chanted the home filled with positive energy and brightness. We made it sure as the diyas were lighted from the entrance to the inner rooms, the lights were put off one by one to assimilate the festivities and light around us.Some lamps were hung on the tree that bends into our terrace. An evening to remember as it is....the diwali evening..

Waking up to Diwali Day

The Diwali day dawned with Celebrations at home.
Waking up to the elaborate decorations at doorways and the inside of the house with marigolds.
Waking up to the different designs of Diyas.
Waking up to the sounds of cymbals and crackers.
Waking up to the fragrance of flowers and home cooked food, ghee and sweets.
Waking up and waiting for the lights and lamps to be lit...
Waking up to the lights of wisdom from the darkness of ignorance.

These are some glimpses of the Diwali preparations at home. Hope you all enjoy these images as
I take some time to assimilate the festivities around me.
