Bloggers Bonding Session @Good Homes@Shiro

What a great combination it was !The bunch of Inspiring Bloggers at the "Good Homes Bonding Session" at the "Wonderful Shiro".A big thanks to the entire Team of Good Homes headed by Ronitaa Italia Dhanu. Ronitaa and the entire team was easy to mingle with and love you all for what you are!


It was wonderful to have a face to the names we knew from years.Some of the very seasoned bloggers who were on the blogging scene very much before me ,who have enthralled and excited their readers including me with loving images of Interiors,their homes and their inspirations.I was indeed glad to have met Rajee Sood of Rajee Sood home,Bhavna of Indian Summer,Prachi of Purple Homes.I just couldnt get enough of you people.

There where some people who were new to me ,but nevertheless made very good friends after the bonding session.They were Priti Singh,Shalini Pereira,Aarti and Misha.
The wonderful Shiro and Nupur who made us extremely comfortable and at ease..The food was lipsmacking. Need to go there again!

Indian Design (daab)

Indian decor is as diverse as it is beautiful.

 Trying to define "Indian decor" is a frivolous attempt. If you are keen to incorporate Indian design — both traditional and contemporary — into your home, read on.Read on books that are written about India's Architecture,design,style and decor.

What began as a simple search for Indian Decor landed me in the sumptuous world of Indian Home Design,Interiors and Architecture.After receiving many a queries about the best books to read on Indian Interiors lands me up in this series of posts..These are some books which gave me an Idea about the India and its Decor and Design.

"Indian Design" is definitely not my first purchase,but its thoroughly a lovely read.It has volumes on information about India's design,Architects and Designers who have been inspiring me a lot since many years ago,since the days i was in college(which will be discussed later,i think the blog is becoming a dairy sorts of ...)

Some of us look at the different styles,never bothering to find out the designers and the photographers.In this book,the different areas have been clearly mentioned for as to Living spaces,Public spaces,Hospitality spaces,Leisure spaces,Retail spaces and Working spaces.Its indeed a blessing to know the designers/architect who designed these spaces too,where a special mention along with the spaces have been provided.A comparison of different styles are also possible here.

Some of them which has been dealt with here in this book are the Sarabhai House in Ahmedabad by Le Corbusier,Pinakin Residence by Pinakin Patel,Beach house by Vishalakshi Ramaswamy and Benny Kuriakose,Nilaya Hermitage,Malabar House,Fort Kochi,MTV office space by Khosla Asociates ,Cinnamom by Abhishek poddar and Soumitro Ghosh and lots more.

Indian Design is a Daab Design Book.The index in the last page has all the information you require in to get in touch with the architects and designer.This has been translated to different languages too.

Mountain Trail,Muktheshwar

After leaving the Ramgarh hills we went high upto Mukteshwar hills.Seeing The snowcapped mountains from the hotel was an experience on its own.Except for a temple and a rock ,there isnt much about Muktheswar,it is a place for long walks,hot tea and some beautiful images.After much reading we finalised upon Mountain Trail,the oldest and the prettiest of accomodations available there.A row of idyllic cottages lines on a hillock.with the beautiful apple ,plum  with all its blosssoms out there in the spring season

At Ramgarh Bungalows,Neemrana

 The cosy insides of the Ramgarh Bungalows..The Neemrana's always left me amused, mesmerised me , their perfection to the  little details that made a non hotel,the old world charm and perfection,the old world furnitures and the blockprints .Each room decorated with the rustic simplicity of the old world.Get elated to a new level.My happiness in those  rustic simplicities, me and my camera,we travel together to the Cosy and unique, in our  own ways...i love these images.

When we saw the Writers bungalows,one among the Ramgarh bungalows,my mind  actually leaped ..the bird suite ,the  ivy flowing on the walls and the yellow button roses just took my mind away...far away into a fairy tale land..
