Seasonal colour analysis always happen at home.A Simple change,it may create a huge change in your mind.My home is a haven  for me and a place for all little pretty things.I simply love all the flowers that come floating in my life always.Some days before an evening the home was filled with the subtle fragrance of Bauhinias.

Happy New Year 2011 !,a little late though.I love all of you who have stayed and come back patiently despite my erratic schedule in blogging..I wish you all a fantastic new year. I hope it’s filled with a lot of incredible things. Love and Laughter. Everything you hope for.

Wood is an extremely durable material used to craft utensils from time immemorial.

Wooden utensils have a warmth that has always fascinated me.

Wooden kitchen utensils are crafted with quality, balance and usefulness in mind.

I cannot resist picking one up during my numerous trips to the antique market.

Be it mellow mangoes, tangy oranges, lovely frangipani blossoms or patina covered cow bells, everything seems home on a wooden pan.

Blockprints, Marigolds and Diwali..

Diwali being just around the corner, even I am trying my best to have some ideas new and special for this time. Simple and yet traditional and very soothing to the eyes. Let these ideas heighten your festive mood.

Simply create the mood using block prints,blockprint patterns in Diwali. A simple and colourful blockprint pattern coaster underneath the big brass lota where my daisies are just uplifts the festive mood..

how about some intricate blockprints below the daisies?

isn't it interesting to have a holder space for a tealight in the centre of the blockprints?

yes they are called surya kiran lamps and they come in sets of four.

some small blocks and marigolds accompanying the suryakiran candles..

dont worry if you dont have candle holders,you can make use of wine glasses,invert them and place candles on top of the flat base

Shubh Deepavali

Air is thick with the joyous preparations for the festival.Aroma of the ghee and savouries wake your senses up.Love and laughter is in the air.Flowers and diyas make their way into houses.Prayers fill the house.All good wishes for a prosperous New year.

Deepavali pooja starts with Ganesh Pujan.Floating flowers and candles and the ghee lit peacock brass lamp add to the decor of the pooja.Let that add to the occasion of offerings of prayers to The God.
