Havelis of Fatehpur

Fatehpur was the last town we visited during the trip to the Shekhawati region.Nadine Le prince Haveli was among the finest we visited in Fatehpur. Owned by the famous painter of reality the French artist "Nadine le prince",the haveli has been restored by her.Nadine Le prince is a descendent of a long line of artists dating back to the sixteenth century. She loved India so much that she decided to buy a haveli and start spending time in India painting and teaching. We stood wonderstruck by her paintings in oils,i thought they were all real and we could feel life in all what she painted.

the fragrance of summer

Then  followed that beautiful season...Summer...
Filled was the air  with a dreamy and magical light;and the landscape
Lay as if new created in all the frehness of childhood.

~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

A blackmetal tribal hanging..i always thought of lighting diyas in them ,but floated plumerias in them instead. The white crisp cotton curtains at home made an excellent combination with them. The yellow of the plumerias shone in the summery light. The perfect summers...

The coolness of the marbles and the fragrance within them...
The marbles were a little purchase i made on the way from Ajmer from a place called Kishangarh.Kishangarh is famous for marbles. They were not superbly polished ,but it had the presence of the hands that made it..I enjoy surfaces that have a rustic feel to it while maintaining the diverse patterns.i was indeed enchanted by the diverse forms and rustic feel.

Of floral prints and flowers at home!

Summer flourishes with flowers and I changed the whole palette of the home into soothing florals and cool pastels and full of flowers.

Havelis of Nawalgarh,Shekhawati

We were in Shekhawati region for 3 days and so each day we kept visiting the important towns nearby Mandawa.
The town which we visited the second day was Nawalgarh.Like Mandawa this town also has got its fair share of havelis, some renovated, some looked after by the caretakers and some turned into schools.

Havelis of Mandawa Part 2

I travel not to go anywhere, but to go.  I travel for travel's sake.  The great affair is to move.                                                    ~Robert Louis Stevenson

For us travel comes with a deep urge,an urge that strikes us telling that there's more beauty around you.
I came across so much beauty in the Shekhawati region, that my camera captured many a beautiful scenes. We enjoyed this journey thoroughly ,as we went from one region to the other.
Words are an amazing form of expression, but the beauty was beyond words simple, yet sophisticated, elegant and charming at the same time..

By each travel,we realize how beautiful is to travel and at the same time, how nice is coming back home.

Each travel makes us humble
and as the quote says:
"Travel has a  way of humbling you "Travel makes one modest.-you see what a tiny place you occupy in this world"
