A Celebration of Art, Design and Culture @Serendipity Haveli!

Serendipity ..

A concept far different from which we have seen so far:)-As the name gathers it is serendipitious as it is,nooks and corners vibrant as ever,an amazing array of vintage and contemporary in an amazing suroundings and an amazing story line to it.

I have already been to Serendipity an year before for their curated show. But last week when we were invited for a lunch with Kuldeep Kaur  and that was an amazing experience. The few blissful hours last weekend afternoon, we just got ourselves soaked in conversation and laughter.Serendipity and Kuldeep ..you both are lovely! Now housed with beautiful furniture, handcrafted and also curated and her beautiful textiles together makes  the place  a little heaven  from the madness and chaos of the busy Delhi streets.it is hard to believe that this was once a storage house.

Its now time for their yearly madness and celebration:)-

Yes..the yearly fesitval is right on time here...This time Ispirato  the design studio joins hands with serendipity to host the famous celebration. All your favourite designers are here ..so block your dates and be there!
This time of the year their curated show "Colour me Autumn Festival " is on 17 and 18 of October.Block your dates and be there Delhi!

Its all in love and memories, the old home!

This post is about a very old home built in the early 1900 or earlier than that :)-The home is of my Husbands Grand Mother's.Recently it got renovated to become even more beautiful with all old photos hanging on the various walls, the black oxide turned into cool blue chettinad flooring :)-

The love it holds for me ..my husband...his mom...his dad..and Chechi. and all other dear family!
I still remember the first time I went there as a newly wed bride, the countless blessings received from the grandma, the grandma's loving felt like hands, almost all Sunday lunches when we are there in town with grandma,my first onam lunch as a new bride and a going to be mom,the many shots I took there, the pink and white hibiscus flowers

I still remember the old windows, the cracked cool blackoxide floors, the books we read lying on the floor, the mangoes  we ate ,the cool summers under the tiled roof  and the countless memories that cannot be penned..the amazing loving stories weaved in mind by the mom in law..its only love in mind..the love to memories and nostalgia!    What more in life than that!

Hoping to gather  more memories and love here.....

loved the small windows..and the light that came from them

Rawla Narlai..An experience beyond vacations!

Contemplating on the images sitting in each folder and umpteen number of journeys done and not even one being shared in the blog..i wonder why am i not getting time to share these :)- each journey has a time  to unfold as i think:)-
The last year we looked forward to exciting journeys by road, longer journeys, where you needed to rest a night and then the rest of the journey the next day.Although it was exciting ,it was tiring too at times..
Last winter we decided to go a little beyond Ajmer ..,a little before Udaipur and Ranakpur and we specifically went to stay in the beautiful village called Narlai. There are very little people to come to the village to stay, as its an enroute stop to Udaipur. I wanted to visit the village, the amazing fort and spend some time with the surroundings which had been in my mind for a very long time.

Rawal Narlai  ...sits on a a beautiful and sleepy village on a country road.Hidden Away in the heart of Aravalli hills,at the foot of a mammoth granite rock, surrounded by forested hills and rocky outcrops,Rawala Narlai is a beautifully maintained heritage resort ,which was once a hunting lodge of Jodhpurs Royal family.Still owned by  members of Jodhpur family, the resort is now transformed from a mere hunting lodge into a stunning ,stylish boutique hotel with all its character and structure maintained.

The pink bougainvilleas all over, the plumerias at the entrance, the blue bells over the walls and doors, the overflowing white bougainvilleas, the red turbaned waiters, the jaipur rugs and so much more an experience beyond vacations!

Who doesn't get enamoured by these breathtaking images and light:)-

just stood gazing at the beautiful bougainivlleas as we entered the courtyard..this is what we wanted to see :)-how it trailed

a view from up..looking down

the setting sun caught

the light shone everywhere

beautiful sights,beautiful prints

the room..the bed

hawa ka jhonka:)-

the white peeled paints and violets..what combination

lot of light pouring in..subtle white

the world of grace and charm..

the light that entered the crevices, fell down

yes..the plumerias

basking in the winter light

gracefully ..like a necklace
