Wisdom,light and love !

Deepavali and the days leading to them were frenzy at home, cleaning, shining and polishing. There wasn't anything in particular i wanted to buy except the flowers.

Marigolds as usual took the centre stage. It was  sheer beauty and happiness to see the golden orange marigolds shining in all corners on the day of Deepavali.
Kantha bedspreads became table spreads and dull oranges went well with the carnations.Dull golds made another excellent combination on the table and the napkins were small rectangular cloths with golden border. The cheer of the Yellows of the gerberas and the fragrance from the incense holder on the day of dhanteras is still in spirits..Hope all of you enjoyed this year and as the saying goes, the wait for the next year starts!

Its that time of the year again!Song, dance, dinners ,lunches, sweets, and tonnes of festivities that call for an evening.Whatever festivities,it all ends up and sums up at the party table. So why not bow to the tradition and face it.From table covers that could be made with old sarees to flower decor on the table and pretty diyas to amazing sweets on the table and the decoration that goes for them..let everything be traditional.

There are an awesome bunch of food bloggers out here who cook up a storm, decorate and spread the fragrance of good food.Lets see how dramatically with props they have changed the simple looking food to gorgeous dishes on the table.

Subtle touch of Festivities!

The Gorgeous shades emerald green and white just look  so pretty together. This palette was all about harvest inspired elegance for me .Throw in loads of metallic gold and candlelight and this is about as festive as it gets! Petals of flowers formed rangoli patterns around the candles as an added element that is relatively easy to accomplish yet creates a whole new dimension to the look.

Decorative elements like crystal ittar bottles around the candles , small white shells or a pallankuzhi create a wonderful ambience in any corner or on the dining table. The green kantha bedspread creates a subtle background.
