Flowers and Flickr Friends Part 8

"Friends are flowers that never fade",I like this quote a lot

Todays flickr friend is my Dearest friend,Silpa Harish.Its through flickr that i met her and its over a year before i met her and we still retain the warmth and friendship through mails and comments...

I felt compelled to have a hobby says Silpa and I'm glad I chose to pick my husband's camera and start clicking around and about the house.

I have found friends, friends for life and an appreciation of little joys and the beauty in the mundane. Everyday is, now, a celebration of gratitude and creativity.So nice to have been written like that .Its very true that she loves all the simple and mundane .It is visible in her images.Its so nice to see that she brings beauty in a single flower ,rather than so many things around the flower for a composition..

Silpa is a freelance writer from Mumbai ,lives with her husband and two children and a pet dog a recent buy,all makes her family,thts what she says...

in pursuit of peace:now that we have a pot of frangipani in our balcony, I'm hoping there will be more arrangements with flowers around the house :)
bedside stories, : like I said, fallen frangipani arranged on a fallen leaf is an instant pick me up and fuss free pot pourri on my bedside table.

some cheer, : vying for attention amongst everything on the table.

all things little, :- essentially, a leaf person, flower arrangements in my home are few and far between. our home usually wears the colour 'leaf green.'
kindness, :- collected by the roadside on my morning walk if you could call walking the daughter to the school bust stop that :) simplicity and colours has always been the essence of any kind dressing I do, be it doing up the house or dressing up the kids or making me look good.
happily pink, :- in our rented apartment in Mumbai. that would be the first pot of plant we bought after our wedding, and the hopeless romantic that I am,we bought it on our second wedding anniversary!

Anu as we all dearly call her is Anuradha .I actually met her through the blogosphere and then i came to know that she had a flickr stream which she uploads photos and shares...She is a very dear friend of mine and its a pleasure to have so many friends whom we have not seen but we keep in touch constantly and are ever ready to help each other,be in any corner of the world.The world is a beautiful place.My photographs are an attempt me to capture its essence through my camera lens ,says Anu.She is a mother to two toddlers,aged four and one.

She is also extremely talented and passionate about travel and interiors and she loves landscape photography.

Like any one of us,she decorates her lovely home with various arrangements of flowers and greens.Appreciate her corners as u all have done prior.

Flowers and Flickr Friends Part 5

Leelawadee as she fondly calls herself in flickr,is a very dear friend of mine and is" Aor".She is an amazing photographer and clicks images with ease.I love all her images and especially flowers have a special place in my mind and heart.The way she opens her mind to travel and clicks any image fondly,even a single flower..Light and shadows are captured dearly in her images..

I am a simple person with various interests, an amateur photographer,this is what she says ?

She says she loves to travel and wish to do more to complete all the destination on her list.

Her screen name ''Leelawadee'' is the Thai name of Frangipani, her favorite flower and who doesnt love Frangipanis.....??

Flowers and Flickr Friends Part 1

The summer heat is on but the lovely summer sunshine is my bonus.

The flowers kept in the corners of my home give me company in these lonely summer afternoons. Their bright colors and the gentle fragrance fills my heart with fond memories of my friends.

Friends who have stood by me in the difficult times. Friends who have shared the little joys and the sweet moments of my life. Friends who have been a shoulder to lean on when I needed them and friends who have parted ways to unknown lands....

Life is a garden

Good friends are the flowers,

And times spent together

Life's happiest hours . . .

And friendship, like flowers,

Blooms, ever more fair

When carefully tended

These lines sum up a lot of emotions. These benign floral beauties arranged on the center table of my home inspired me to start a project series focusing on flowers and my friends. So I asked my Flickr friends to send me snaps of the flowers at the corners of their homes. Soon my mail box was flooded with pretty pictures of lovely nooks and corners bedecked with flowers.

As a prelude to the series, here are some pictures of my Floral friends who've given me and my corners company and shared my ruminations and apprehensions in the summer afternoons. i miss them, my friends and as they say....

life's lovely garden would be sweet if all who passed through it were as nice as you are.
